Take some fried noodles, stuff them in a hotdog bun and you get yakisoba pan. 

According to Shiki, my current host, yakisoba pan is what “highschool boys eat on the roof”. 

Of all the weird Japanese food I’ve tried (raw horse, crab brain, fermented soybeans), I consider this the weirdest, mostly because it’s just not good. At all. 

PS. Although it’s called yakisoba (i.e. fried soba), the noodles are actually made of wheat and resemble ramen.
